At Western Lane Ambulance District, paramedics receive extensive training to become highly qualified in a wide range of Emergency Medical Services. We are equipped with four fully-functional Advanced Life Support ambulance vehicles with state-of-the-art tools and machinery. These vechicles include: life pack monitors – capable of 12-Lead Electrocardiogram Interpretation as well as Stryker Ambulance Cots which assist in smoother patient care. With this equipment, paramedics have the ability to provide the latest in modern response to an emergency medical situation. Paramedics can perform Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Specialized Training & Equipment
The landscape of the Florence, Oregon Coast is perfect for All-Terrain Vehicles, Mountain Climbing and Hiking near the Siuslaw River. For this reason, paramedics are fully trained for rescue scenarios involving sand dunes, mountains and embanked vehicles using high/low angle rope. We also have two Sand Dune Rescue Vehicles available at all times. Our geographical location demands this specialized rescue service.
